Illinois Press remiss in Coverage of Funeral Director Swindle?-YourFuneral Guy

The Illinois Press has been remiss in it’s handling of the Illinois Funeral Directors Association Preneed Funeral Insurance Swindle. This may indeed be in part because of the misinformation (babbling)put out this year by the Executive Director Of the Illinois Funeral Director’s Association Duane Marsh.

The Illinois Funeral Directors Association Stole and Mismanaged between $59-100 million of the  folks funeral money in the State of Illinois.

Marsh who has been only in Illinois nine months is really not qualified to deal  with the depth of funeral( NFDA’s Randall L Earl, Charles Childs Jr) and political corruption ( Illinois Senator Roland Burris founding poitico, and lobbyist of the IFDA Preneed Trust). It also should be noted that this is his first Funeral Directors Association.

Nine months in the state with  failed promises to bring a NEW ILLINOIS FUNERAL DIRECTORS ASSOCIATION IN JUNE 2009-it has been the same old same old-Lawsuit after Lawsuit, Investigation after investigation and trustee after trustee for the  IFDA Preneed Trust! Just like the corrupt Executive Director before him Duane Marsh  has to get up every morning and spin  a web of misinformation and lies.

Then there is that look yourself in the mirror thing.

A Second  Burr Oak Cemetery Scandal Has been revealed in  the Chicago Area. This was revealed Last Thursday at the the Cemetery  Oversight Task Force and Meeting.  The Scandal is located at Mount Hope Cemetery in south Suburban  Chicago.

“A day after reports that four bodies at Mount Hope Cemetery may have been buried in body bags in a single grave, concerned families flooded the Morgan Park cemetery hoping that their loved ones had not been disturbed.

The secretary of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Brent Adams, has asked Illinois Comptroller Dan Hynes to investigate reports of misconduct that were raised during a hearing of the newly formed Cemetery Task Force, formed by Gov. Pat Quinn after the scandal at Alsip’s Burr Oak Cemetery.”

Relatives of more than 7,000 people buried in Burr Oak Cemetery are trying to find out whether the graves of their loved ones are among those desecrated, authorities said Sunday.

The number of angry mourners grew over the weekend as investigators locked the gates of the cemetery near Alsip and Illinois Comptroller Dan Hynes vowed to have the cemetery seized from owners.

Dan Hynes, the Comptroller of the State of Illinois is now calling for the licensing of  Cemetery operators, just as Funeral Directors are licensed. The Comptroller says he will ask a Judge to put the Cemertery into receicership.

Discarding  and desecrating bodies and collecting money by reusing graves-This happened at the Burr Oak Cemetery in  the Chicago Area- Alsip, IL. Two words made this happen Preneed and Greed.Reports state that up to 300 bodies have been desecrated.

One realizes that humans did do this and that their main motivation was greed. The way they pulled it off was through at need and preneed cemetery sales.

There are not tough enough laws in  Illlinois for the selling of  cemetery sites in the State of Illinois. Most sites are sold on a preneed basis. This means that people buy cemetery property before their funeral. Many times a preened insurance policy is used.

Funeral and Cemetery Preneed  Policies have been a probem in the State of Illinois as mentioned often in this blog. In fact the loss of the two largest  Funeral Corporations in the United States. Service Corporation International and Stewart Enterprises  have had horrible loses in Cemetery Sales.

Those in the Cemetery business are hurting. The people  involved here have taken it upon themselves to hurt others by desecrating graves. This a sad burial scandal.
