A Funeral cost question is always asked and happens right after you arrange your loved ones funeral. Who asks the question–The Funeral Home owner or manager. The majority of Funeral Home owners managers and the like, always ask –How much Funeral cost $$$ did you get? What did you sell? and How much did you get? This question has great effect on the average cost of a funeral.

This is still the norm in Norh America…

Many Funeral Directors view it as a Funeral Product Industry and not a Funeral Service Industry.

The price is being paid with the rise of low cost and green funerals.

It is simply true, Funeral Directors have a vested interest in Caskets and Urns. Saying the word Tell me where they sell caskets and urns close to cost. There s one place…The Internet.

Funeral Directors do not let folks know about funeral arrangements until it happens whether it is preneed or at need. There should be a required course in HS–How to Negotiate a Funeral! The old funeral books from 1963 to 2002 are ancient history. Education is the answer but 21st century funeral education is the key.

We live in mobile society and most folks do not have a real clue about a Funeral Homes Reputation. Great service can be had for lower cost. It is all about the service, but that includes delivering products close to cost. This is now possible because of the internet.

Your Funeral Guy: NFDA Declares Congressional Victory on Funeral Cost.

The issues of the good and bad in Funeral Directors and Funeral Cost  is addressed in “Rest in Peace Insiders Tips to the Low Cost Less Stress Funeral”  
Congress did not approve National Funeral Directors day on March 11th as the NFDA requested. The NFDA in their March issue stated that Preneed Funeral Cost needs to be fixed. According to the NFDA it appears that Natioinal Funeral Directors Day will pass the United States House of Representatives. Here is what they Sent me:

Thanks to the efforts of NFDA members, especially those who attended the 2008 Advocacy Summit, the Senate passed S. Res. 390 designating March 11, 2008 as “National Funeral Director and Mortician Recognition Day”. The resolution passed the Senate late in the evening of March 11th due to the last minute efforts of Senators Herb Kohl (D-WI) and Saxby Chambliss (R-GA). This is the first time ever that Congress has officially recognized the importance and value of funeral directors to thier communities and the families they serve. The House version, sponsored by NFDA member Rep. Charlie Wilson (D-OH) and 74 other House members is expected to pass next week. A full copy of the resolution as passed by the Senate is set forth below. 110th CONGRESS 2d Session S. RES. 390 Designating March 11, 2008, as National Funeral Director and Mortician Recognition Day. IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES  December 6, 2007   Mr. KOHL (for himself, Mr. PRYOR, Mr. SCHUMER, Mr. JOHNSON, Mr. BROWN, and Mr. CHAMBLISS) submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary   March 11, 2008   Committee discharged; considered and agreed to ________________________________________ RESOLUTION Designating March 11, 2008, as National Funeral Director and Mortician Recognition Day. Whereas the death of a family member, friend, or loved one is a devastating emotional event; Whereas the memorialization and celebration of the decedent’s life is the fabric of today’s funeral service; Whereas the family of the decedent has traditionally looked to funeral directors and morticians for consolation, strength, and guidance in the planning and implementation of a meaningful funeral ceremony; Whereas funeral directors and morticians have dedicated their professional lives to serving the families of their communities in their times of need for generations with caring, compassion, and integrity; Whereas these special men and women see their chosen profession as a higher calling, a sacred trust, in serving every family regardless of social standing, financial means, or time of day or day of the year, whenever a death occurs; and Whereas on this special day, March 11, 2008, it would be appropriate to pay tribute to these funeral directors and morticians who, day in and day out, assist our Nation’s families in their times of sadness and grief and help families mourn a death and celebrate a life: Now, therefore, be it Resolved, That the Senate– (1) takes this opportunity to pay the Nation’s collective debt of gratitude for all the hours and all the times they have put someone ahead of themselves by serving the living while caring for the dead; (2) urges every American of every walk of life to embrace each of these special individuals with heartfelt thanks for their dedication to their profession; and (3) designates March 11, 2008, as `National Funeral Director and Mortician Recognition Day’.

The NFDA IS ASSUMING THAT NATIONAL FUNERAL DIRECTORS DAY WILL PASS THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES IN THE UNITED STATES CONGRESS.

It looks like the United States Congress will pass the United States Congress. The United States Congress is not Acknowledging that some of the TACTICS of Funeral Directors are deceptive.
