Your Funeral Guy Booted for Pro Family Lower Cost Funeral Comments.

1 Jan

Your Funeral Guy has been booted by Connecting Directors, an attempt to throw him under the funeral industry bus. 🙂

Your Funeral Guy has been booted from a  major Funeral Industry Website for comments promoting the Pro family low cost funeral options. My agenda is the presentation of the low cost funeral alternatives. For many Funeral Homes this works well.On the whole the funeral industry is vehemently opposed to presenting  the lower cost funeral  in the arrangement conference.

Keep In Mind that The WEBMASTER WHO KNOWS WHAT’s Good for Funeral Service has never worked in a Funeral Home!

Disabled Account

Dear Brian,

I have decided that your commentary on my website is not for the betterment of funeral service or for my members. Although debate is healthy, I feel you are using my site to further your personal agenda.

I have disabled your account and any new accounts created as an alais will be disabled as well.

Sincerely,

Ryan Thogmartin, CEO

How to Stay Below Average Funeral Cost-Rent The Casket-Your Funeral Guy

12 Mar

One way to stay under the average cost of a funeral and have a low cost funeral is to rent the casket. This is an option that folks have employed in good times and bad to have  lower funeral cost.

Your Funeral Guy has some experience with this- most excellent caskets run well above $2000 USD. Even in expensive funeral homes a casket can be rented for a funeral traditional  for $1000.00 USD.

Renting a casket in most cases means there is a cremation afterwards. A traditional service does not have to be had at a funeral home when had at a funeral home. In fact you can have the service at church or a community center.

In this case you  cutting out the cemetery and having a funeral service. It is the opposit of the low cost option of having the service at the cemetery and cutting out the funeral service.

The strategy employed here will require the purchase of an urn.

Senator from New York: On the Death Debt Collector Case-Your Funeral Guy.

The Dead may be getting a bailout from United States Senator Chuck Shumer

The Dead may be getting a bailout from United States Senator Chuck Shumer

Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is on the case  of the Death Debt Collector. Some companies as mentioned here are doing DEATH DEBT COLLECTION. There is some question as to the legality of this activity.

It appears that Schumer met with the new FTC chief and asked him to look into the Death Debt Collector.

According to Yahoo News:

Debt collection firms “conveniently omit” telling relatives of deceased debtors that they aren’t legally obligated to pay, Schumer said.

Amid tough economic times, his office has received complaints from New York state residents about the practice. A recent article in The New York Times said the business of collecting dead people’s debts is expanding, helped by improvements in database technology that provide easy access to probate court records”.

This situation adds to peoples grief and funeral cost after the death of a loved one. It is good to see that someone in the government is taking action.

Many times States have regulations that effect death debt collection. With the Economic recovery spending in Washington and the folks on debt overload, who knows what a Senator from New York named Chuck Schumer may do!

Check out my post “President Obama the dead need a bailout too” and the original New York Times article here.

Your Funeral Guy: Beware Funeral Cost Vampires

19 May

BEWARE OF  FUNERAL COST VAMPIRES:

Did you know that on one side of town you can pay $500.00 for a cremation and on another side of town your cremation cost may mean $2200.00.

THIS FROM THE MAY 18th  issue of the Arizona Republic:

“A “direct cremation” at Angels Cremation and Burial in Mesa is $475. At A-L Moore Grimshaw Mortuaries in Phoenix, expect to pay $2,195.

For a “traditional burial,” which includes basic services such as picking up the body, refrigeration, obtaining a death certificate and placing the body in a casket, a customer could pay $1,305 at Greer-Wilson Funeral Home in Phoenix. Or $4,700 at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary.

Not including the cost of the casket.”
