Autopsy Instruments Used on Elvis to go up for Auction!-Your Funeral Guy

21 Jul

This is one of the stranger funeral stories to be examined lately, the autopsy tools used on Elvis Presley are being sold.  This is much better than a Preneed scandal,  but not the quite the height of a Michael Jackson Funeral Circus.

I could say the  fact that these items are being auctioned in Chicago, has some mob connection. It could be mentioned that if you purchase the “instruments” (tool s are not  a word used by funeral directors or medical examiners) That you may  have some contact with Elvis’s Ghost. BUT WE ARE NOT SEEKING TABLOID STATUS AT THIS BLOG.

The Best I have to Offer is that the instruments of Elvis’s Autopsy need to be placed in a Funeral Museum.

NEW YORK – Autopsy tools used to embalm and prepare Elvis Presley’s body for his funeral in 1977 and a toe tag used on the singer for identification purposes are set to go under the hammer at a Chicago auction house.

The instruments up for sale at Leslie Hindman Auctioneers on Aug. 12 include rubber gloves, forceps, lip brushes, a comb and eye liner, needle injectors, an arterial tube and aneurysm hooks, all of which the auction house say were used only once.

The collection, saved for years by a senior embalmer at the Memphis Funeral Home who wishes to stay anonymous, also includes a toe tag marked “John Doe” which was used as a replacement after the original was stolen by a fan during chaos at the hospital…..“It’s really about owning a piece of the celebrity themselves … and how much closer can you get than the actual embalming instruments,” Williams told Reuters.
