More mergers, buy outs as Funeral, Casket Industry Declines Your Funeral Guy

Mergers acuisitions are symptons of Funeral Industry Casket Companies decline

More Mergers and  buyouts are taking place in the Funeral Industry and among casket manufacturers as cremation rises and things go south for the traditional Funeral Business.

Matthews International has purchased a casket company in California. Matthews is #3  Casket Company  but  carries the  most  diverse  set of products of a Casket Company.

Matthews International Corp.’s acquisition of rival Reynoldsville Casket Co. is the latest move by the North Shore-based company to bolster its casket business as consumers spend less on burial and increasingly opt for cremation.

On Monday, Matthews announced it was acquiring Reynoldsville Casket in Jefferson County for an undisclosed price. Reynoldsville, which has a warehouse in Homestead, had $13 million in sales in 2009.


Batesville Casket Company has followed Matthews International Lead by purchasing K-Tron a non funeral industry company. Matthews International Corporation get’s half of it’s income from Non-Funeral sources.
