Lakewood Slain police Offers Funeral will take place at the Tacoma Dome Dec 8th

The  Memorial  Service for the slain Lakewood Police Officers will be Tuesday December 8th at the Tacoma Dome in Washington State. The public is invited to the Service.

20,000 police officers from around the country are expected. Over 1,000 police cruisers and emergency vehicles will follow the families in funeral procession to the Tacoma Dome.

The Memorial Service was planned under the Incident Command System-a  useful system for police to handle emergencies.

The management of the service was handled by the Lakewood Police Department.

The families of the slain will  be walk past legions of honor guards.After that the memorial service will follow in this order at the Tacoma Dome.


Invocation – Chaplain Dennis Fountain.

Welcoming remarks – Lakewood Mayor Doug Richardson.

Remarks – Lakewood Police Chief Bret Farrar.

Reading of the 23rd Psalm – Chaplains Larry and Diane Huffman of the Lakewood Fire Department.

Prayer – Chaplain Alve Robbins.

Comments by family and friends – Tukwila assistant police chief Mike Villa, Lakewood assistant police chief Michael Zaro, and Pamella Battersby, Ronda LeFrancois, Austin Richards and Jami-Mae Richards.

In the meantime there has been hundreds of benefits around the country for the slain police officers.

The Lakewood Police have done an excellent job keeping the privacy of the families, honoring private funeral arrangement, and  handling inquires from around the country.

We have been trying to provide general information here without exposing the families personal situation.
