Celebrity Funeral: Death may be the new Sex Tape-Your Funeral Guy

15 Jan

Why did Casey Johnson get so much attention in death? Why was there so much focus on the Brittany Murphy Funeral? The answer is death may be the new sex tape.

It was not too long ago that the celebrity sex tape was the rage, the wicked thing.

After the celebrity deaths of 2009 it appears death may be the new sex tape.

the Brittany Murphy Funeral Showed us that eath May be the new Celebrity sex tape.

Case #1 Casey Johnson Funeral. Simply a Socialite and a Johnson and Johnson heiress. Yet a media frenzy developed around her death We blogged about her funeral at the Your Funeral Guy blogs because people wanted to know.

Case #2 The Brittany Murphy Funeral. Coverage of Brittany Murphy in the media and the blogs was explosive after her death. Before that coverage was ho-hum for the “Clueless” star.

This makes for some strong argument that in the Celebrity Funeral, Death is the New Sex Tape.

Whenever a young, attractive person dies in mysterious ways, it grabs extra attention … Additionally, death tends to enlarge the characteristics that people remember — and I think there’s a good bit of sordid curiosity here, in that Tila Tequila has been such an outrageous figure that there’s a real hunger to see how her reactions will play out. Finally, these things tend to grow exponentially, as the more media coverage they receive, the more we believe we should be paying attention, and the more likely we are to revise history and remember her as perhaps being more famous than she was.

The grim reaper may have got Billy Mays but he's back with a costune contest for Halloween

The grim reaper may have got Billy Mays but he's back with a costune contest for Halloween

As most folks know Billy Mays died this past summer. The advertising  wizard has passed on. His legacy will continue this Halloween.  There is a costume contest sponsored by his son Billy Mays III.  The son has shown some creativity on keeping his memory as a celebrity alive. First the website(wheresbillymays.com), then the costume contest.

From wheresbillymays.com

Halloween is approaching rapidly and it goes without saying that “deceased celebrities” (and balloon boy) will most likely be a huge theme at every gathering.

There will no doubt be a multitude of people dressed as Billy Mays (or zombie Billy Mays).. it is one of the easiest costumes of all time to put together. (Beard, blue button-down, khakis, prop product, etc..)

So, I’ve decided to hold a little contest for best costume.

To Enter:

1. Simply send a photo of your costume to wheresbillymays@gmail.com along with your contact info (email and/or twitter will do)
2. Be tasteful.  (Zombies ARE permitted)
3. Project your voice.
4. Have fun.

There are many prizes for the winner including a tub full of oxy clean. The  memorial website has a place for tributes and of Course Billy Mays sightings. Yes there are also Billy May’s videos.

Your Funeral Guy: Walt Disney had low Funeral cost

13 Jun

Your Funeral Guy reminds you Walt Disney had low Funeral cost. Walt Disney hated to go to Funerals so there was this new low funeral cost Cremation thing. Here is where his ashes are placed a low funeral cost grave for 1966. 42 Years later Forest Lawn in Glendale California is not a low cost funeral place. My theory is that because Walt Disney was an ambulance driver in WWI he hated death, funerals and funeral cost.

It is an urban legend that Disney had his body frozen. He was a pioneer in death and made the cremation choice.

Disney’s involvement in Disney World ended in late 1966; after too much smoking. It was said Walt Disney hated funerals. His family made the low funeral cost choice of doing everything including the funeral at the Cemetery.

Remarkably Disney’s Wife died 31 years to the day of WALT DISNEY’s Death.

As far as I know no one has done a Funeral for Mickey Mouse. However he and his wife presided over the funeral of the first mouse, Mortimer. OK His wife said the name should be Mickey not Mortimer mouse.
