VIDEO:FH Illegally Cut The Legs OFF The Body|Remains Open|yourfuneralguy

23 Apr

A Funeral that got a lot of Media time for illegally cutting the legs off  a clients body remains open. A big production was made of the Investigation into Cave Funeral Home in the press. Many times when atrocities and crimes happen at Funeral Homes or Funeral Corporations, those places get to go on with business as usual. The funeral industry continually refuses to police itself.

Here is the video.

Richmond Area Funeral Director gets three Years, Embezzling Preneed|Your Funeral Guy

24 Mar Courtroom detail

A trusted lower cost funeral director in the Richmond,Virginia will spend three years in prison for embezzling preneed Insurance funds. This is truly sad as the man was trusted and promoted in the community by a prominent minister.

A well-known former Henrico County funeral home operator who embezzled tens of thousands of dollars entrusted to him for pre-need burial plans will serve three years in prison.

Circuit Judge Catherine C. Hammond said the duration of Jordan’s pilferage — from 2005 until 2007 — and the number of victims — at least 20 families — warranted a substantial prison sentence. Sentencing guidelines ranged from two to five years.

Jordan, who had been free on bond, was taken from the courtroom in handcuffs.

It is best not to purchase a preneed funeral contract in advance. Just because a funeral director is honest once does not mean they will be honest every time. There is prepaid funeral scandal after funeral scandal every week in the United States. And usually when it happens the local community is shocked. If you purchase Funeral preneed it is always best to check up on your money.

On Tuesday there was a rare Funeral Procession from the Medical Examiners Office to the Funeral Home. This happened in Lakewood,  Washington for the slain Police officers in the Sunday Shooting.

The procession went some 50 blocks from the Pierce County Medical Examiners Office in Tacoma, Washington to the Mountain View Funeral Home in Lakewood, Washington.

Lakewood Police, Lakewood Fire Honor Guard, Lakewood Fire Medic Units and the Metro City Honor Guard participated in the Funeral Procession.

The bodies of the four Lakewood police officers gunned down at a Parkland coffee shop Sunday were taken from the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s office to the Mountain View Funeral Home in Tacoma this morning, and support for their families continues.

While county employees watched, the procession was led by two Lakewood motorcycle officers. Each slain officer’s body was carried in a Lakewood ambulance.

In Print: A Great Illinois Funeral Director Story-YourFuneralGuy

9 Oct
The Funeral Industry takes another hit

Driving down Rte 47 in Elburn, Illinois , there is a pretty good speed trap as in many small towns. Behind the doors of  homes in Elburn  there is a great funeral director story. The Story is about Bruce Conley and Conley Funeral Home.

Snippet From the Chicago Tribune:

The mother called Conley Funeral Home in Elburn to tell them her 17-year-old son was dead.

Michael had been found miles from his home, dumped frostbitten and bruised on Chicago’s West Side. Minutes after the phone call ended, funeral director Bruce Conley was at Cathy Reinert’s house.

With tears on her face, she told him, “Your kid is not supposed to die before you.”

“I know,” Conley whispered, hugging her.

If even a few Funeral directors behaved like this man, there would be no Funeral Scandal to report, and your funeral guy blog would not exist. There was a time when many Funeral Directors behaved like Bruce Conley.  A time when Funeral Directors were honest, and ripping people off in their grief was not considered.

Bruce Conley will continue to do what he does best as he battles terminal cancer.

Conley Funeral Home is a leader  in Funeral Aftercare. Read the Tribune Story. Be Inspired.
