President Obama will take on the role as Healer in Chief as he speaks at the Fort Hood Memorial Service on November 10th. It is a role that President Bush filled well, but unlike Obama his condolences were for the most part done out of view of the camera. Obama will be front and center in consoling the Fort Hood Shooting Victims Families.

In fact President Bush has already met with the wounded at Dover, quietly.

Here is a snippet on the Barach Obama Healer(Griever) in chief moment:

For the first time since winning the White House, President Barack Obama faces such a moment Tuesday at Fort Hood. It his job to offer comfort, if not answers, after the shooting that left 13 people dead and 29 wounded on the bustling Texas Army post five days ago.

Bush did His  Healer in Chief well whether it was 911, meeting with the Wounded from IRAQ, or meeting with the families of those killed in action.

Families can Webcast their own Funerals,weddings(wordpress.com)-yourfuneralguy

Wordpress Video has the potential to put funeral and wedding video out of business.

Wordpress has the potential to put Wedding and Funeral Webcating Companies out of business. It is also true of online obituary companies..

Special thanks to wordpress.com for making video easy on their blog. It is now possible to webcast funerals and weddings on the wordpress.com blog network. The free blogs are quite useful for posting videos of funerals and weddings.

These blogs are also useful for a family to post obituaries as well. Comments can be used as condolences or a funeral guestbook.

You do not have to use the services advertised on the web For “WebCasting Funerals.”  Set up a wordpress.org blog. or a wordpress.com blog. You will  have funeral webcasting. It will not be live but right after the funeral but very inexpensive.

To some this is a  surprise. The  family can replay their own video at the  blogs mentioned above with minimal cost and minimal effort. It is kind of an internet virtual memorial. It can go on  in almost virtual  perpetuity. All that is needed is a Video Camera.

To be fair this can be done on typepad and blogspot (google) blogs as well. This could pose a dismal future for funeral one.com anf funeral recording .com

Michelle Obama will attend Fort Hood Memorial Service on Tuesday with President Barack Obama. The Fort Hood Texas army base is one of the largest in the world and was the recent setting for one of the most horrific loss of life incidents involving the United States armed services in history. Psychiatrist  Malik Nidal Hasan is accused of firing more than 100 rounds Thursday in a soldier processing center at Fort Hood that left thirteen dead.

Fort Hood deceased moved to Dover before Funerals-YourFuneralGuy

7 Nov

iStock_000003468238XSmallDeceased Victims of the Fort Hood deceased were moved to Dover air Force Base  Friday night. There was a touching military ramp  ceremony while caskets were loaded onto the transport. Each flag draped casket was saluted and sent up the ramp. A wounded soldier in the attack insisted on being at the ceremony in a wheel chair.

The heros will all have an autopsy before funeral arrangements can be made for the massacred.

A prayer vigil was also held at Fort Hood Friday night for the decease and the wounded.

The 13 victims of the Fort Hood massacre were flown Friday night to Dover Air Force Base, the transit point for generations of soldiers slain by foreign enemies.

Only these were victims of an enemy from within.

As the coffins bearing 12 soldiers and a civilian base worker were loaded on an Air Force aircraft for the long flight to Delaware, the feds were trying to fathom why a U.S. Army shrink opened fire on his fellow soldiers.

Fort Hood Massacre(shooter)-First Dead Than Alive-YourFuneralGuy

thumbnailMedia reports for hours the attacker dead, than it was reported  he was alive. In this sad scenario it is amazing that that the “MEDIA” could get the facts wrong. Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan the Forth Hood shooter shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’ before deadly attack. Hasan spent 6 years as a psychiatrist before coming to Fort Hood Texas for deployment.

The gunman behind the carnage at a Texas military base hollered “Allahu Akbar!” before unleashing a bloody rampage that left more than a dozen dead, an onlooker told investigators.

It is hard to mistake dead for alive. There will be military funerals to come as a result of this disaster.

What’s next for Funerals?-YourfuneralGuy

iStock_000005034683XSmallWall Mart now sells caskets? So what is next for Funerals? Whatever it is probably not good for the Traditional Funeral Industry. Does anyone remember Full Service Gas Stations? They are gone.

Just Maybe sometime in the future……. Does anyone think about  those Traditional Funerals and the Funeral Home On the corner that was dark and somber? Yes i know all but the graveside service is now being  done online. Everything costs so much less, that sure makes death easier to deal with. Those old blacksuits and the ties, they’ve been gone for awhile. Just a few years back it was a big deal when Walmart began selling caskets online. Now they are on the showroom floor. Order on line and go down to Wal-Mart and Pickup. Now you do not even a funeral director for that.  What were those old casket companes, Batesville, York, Aurora, too bad they did not sell those ecopods back in the day before green funerals. I heard that they had to meltdown there metal caskets and sell the wooden ones for kindling.

Here’s a snippet from a blogger who takes you into the near future.

The funeral homes industry has reason to be concerned. I am sure their argument is these funeral homes can provide full service (like gas station) and ability to provide comfort and empathy, but it comes at a price. If it works for Wal-mart, the next one to join would be Target. They would invite Stella McCartney or Phillipe Starke to design caskets that costs just a little more, but with a lot more style. Amazon.com will follow with online customization that you can pick your favorite patterns or engraved your family crest.

Small Illinois Funeral Homes lost fiduciary Control over their preneed funds

Last week Small funeral homes in Illinois have lost fiduciary authority over their. preneed funds. Funeral Directors are looking for new ways to bring in income and they are considering knowledge basis of services, end of life services, estate planing, grief counseling etc as a new income source.

The small funeral home owners can thank the Illinois Funeral Directors Association through the IFDA Preneed Trust Ponzi scheme for this.

Last week 10/28/2009 the Governor of the State of Illinois amendatory veto applied to Senate Bill SB1692 was passed by the Illinois Legislature. It can be viewed here.

The funeral homes will have to find a trustee for their  preneed funds in 2010.

Who own’s Preneed Trust Funds|no clear answer-YourFuneralGuy

Preneed is insurance, different from life insirance

National Prearranged Services pulled off their frauds with Life Insurance policies.

Who own’s funeral preneed? Is it the bank that own’s the trust fund? The insurance company?  The Funeral corporation? The funeral director? The policy holder? The answer is not in plain sight. This makes repaying a funeral not a good idea.

Because the laws are different in each State, each may have a different answer. Because each contract is different clearly the Managers of the IFDA Trust(through IFDA services)thought the money was theirs when they robbed it. The funeral corporations list the money as theirs on the balance sheet(this is true for SCI, Big Death, Service Corporation International and other funeral corporations).

Funeral Directors count on the preneed money being there, for themselves and their funeral home.

NPS, National Prearranged Services saw the preneed  insurance money in their contracts and they took it.(preneed insurance is different from life insurance)The consumer who purchases the preneed contract often walks away thinking the money  is their own. Sadly that is never the case.
