Knowing Low cost Funeral options such as cremation and direct burial is not the same as choice. It is always best to know your options. Here is a good explanation of cremation. This comes from Jill Essy

“The process of cremation takes about two to three hours. Upon completion of the actual cremation service, the remains which had been cremated are swept into a temporary container. The ashes are placed in a temporary container until a permanent container had been selected and then returned to the family members or placed in another specific location.”

Your Funeral Guy: Energy cost Rise: Not True for Your funeral cost

Energy Cost Rise Does not equal funeral cost rise. Just because of the rise in gasoline rise  or heating oil does not automatically change to Funeral cost to you.

In order to charge you more  for vehicles and gasoline the Funeral home owner has to make changes to the general price list or GPL.

A GPL is a general price list that a funeral director must give to you before doing businees with you.

You can negotiate a general price list…GPL.  You have the right to accept the services and products only what you want. You do have to accept the charges of funeral director and staff…for the services the funeral director supplies on the basis of the services provided  for you.

Your Funeral Guy: Economic downturn sees spike in cremations and lower cost funerals

It is more than obvious that the basic economic downturn sees a spike in the lower cost of cremations. Cremations are more than growing because they are much less than the cost of the Traditional funeral.

“Funeral directors in some cities nationwide are reporting a spike in cremations, which might cost around $1,000 to $1,600, versus $6,500 to $9,000 for a traditional funeral service and burial, according to numbers provided by two Utah funeral directors. Some New York funeral directors have noted a 30 percent jump in cremations, and suburban Chicago funeral homes have seen a rise, too, according to newspaper reports.”
