Your Funeral Guy’s Lower Cost Funeral Bucket List

12 Feb

A Social Studies instructor asked us in High School to write about what we would do before our funeral.
or before we R.I.P(die and have our funeral and burial). Now this was 38 years ago.

Here are some of things on that list:.
Climb Mount Hood in Oregon………..accomplished
Climb the Matterhorn in the Alps……not accomplished
Lobby in Washington D.C………………accomplished
Have a Happy Marriage………………….accomplished
Pay Cash for a new Car………………….accomplished
Own a big house with a Big yard…….accomplished
Sail a sailboat alone across a large lake….accomplished
Live in the Washington D.C area……………….accomplished
Spend time in Mexico………………………………..accomplished
become a millionaire……………………………….not accomplished
become a preacher………………………………….not accomplished
become a lawyer …………………………………..not accomplished
Have a Happy Job……………………………………close to accomplished
run for political office……………………………….not accomplished

It is quite humorous and ironic to find I am Blogging under the name rest in peace, am a Funeral Director, advocating that people do a low cost funeral so they can do more on their rest in peace list(R.I.P LIST), or as the new movie states “BUCKET LIST”(meaning kick the bucket list). It really calls for life planning. It is just as amazing that 38 years later I still have a “Kick the Bucket list ” with become a millionaire, be a preacher and a lawyer, run for political office on that list.

I have to admit that although I Made Four Bucket lists between ages 17 and 35….I did not really put much effort toward these goals until after 35 when it is much more difficult to achieve the goals.
No matter what age you are it is important to do life planning and have a “Kick the Bucket LIST” and add more money for your list with low funeral cost.

Later in life the question arose. If you have a year to live what would you do? A month? A Week? A Day? An Hour?
Trust me Television and the News do not matter. Loving Family matters, Being kind and living a legacy, becomes a matter of prime importance.
Please plan out your life and do what you want. Life is too short and we do not get out of it alive.
